Operating system(OS) can perform operations like memory management,handling input&output and many other Operating system can also perform other necessary and important functions like,
- booting
- loading
- device controlling
- execution
- Process management etc
Operating systems can be classified into 2 types
1) OS for PC
2) OS for Mobiles
- 1] Operating system for PC
It is a series of operating system which was designed by microsoft.
First 2 version of microsoft were introduce in year 1985 and 1987 and
they were primitive.Windows is most commonly used OS in the world.

b} Mac OS
It's a Apples corporation's registered OS
c} Chrome OS
It's a Open source operating system created by
google to create better computing experience for people.
d} DOS(Disk operating system)
Disk operating system was dominant operating system for microcomputers in 1980's and early 1990's. it requires input from user using command prompt window.
e} Unix
It was a multitasking and multi-user computer operating system it it was trademarked by AT&T employees at bell labs.
f} Linux
Its a opensource,portable,multi-user,multi-programming, operating system it is similar to other operating systems such as windows and its source code is made available to public.

a} Android
It is free and open source operating systems provided by Google.its most commonly used OS for mobiles.
b} Asha
This operating system is closed source that means it's code are not released in public it is mostly used in Nokia phones.
c} Blackberry
This is closed source operating system for
smartphone.
d} iOs
Apples closed source operating system for apples iPhone and other apple gadgets.
e} Windows Phone
It is developed by Microsoft and it is closed source operating system for mobiles
